Celebrating Our Primary Science Quality Mark Award!

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the PQSM award for our Primary Phase! 🌟
The Primary Science Quality Mark is a nationally recognised award that celebrates a school's commitment to high-quality science teaching and learning. The programme supports schools to develop their science curriculum, strengthen subject leadership and inspire a love of science among pupils.
What does the award involve?
Achieving the PSQM involves a year-long process of professional development, reflection and school improvement. Throughout the programme, schools evaluate their existing science provision, identify areas for development and work collaboratively to strengthen the teaching and learning of science across the curriculum.
This includes developing a clear vision for science, reviewing how the subject is taught, and considering how pupils develop their scientific knowledge, understanding and investigative skills. Schools also gather evidence to demonstrate the impact of their work on both teaching and learning.
The process encourages staff to reflect on their practice, share ideas and identify opportunities to make science engaging, inclusive and meaningful for every child.
Inspiring the next generation of scientists
A high-quality science education gives children opportunities to explore the world around them, ask questions, investigate ideas and develop their curiosity. By continually developing our science provision, we aim to ensure that pupils build a strong foundation of scientific knowledge and skills while developing positive attitudes towards the subject.
We are incredibly proud to have achieved this recognition, which celebrates our commitment to developing and strengthening science education throughout our Primary Phase.
A huge well done and thank you to everyone who has contributed to this achievement! 👏
